Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija — Around 240 farmers, fisherfolk, women, youth, and local government representatives participated in the Agri Techno Roadshow organized by the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through its University Extension Program Office (UEPO) on October 28, 2025, as part of the 166th Araw ng Cuyapo celebration. The Agri Techno Roadshow is an advocacy initiative of CLSU that aims to introduce and promote science-based agricultural technologies to improve productivity and livelihood in rural communities. The event was graced by Hon. Jose S. Hidalgo, Jr., Municipal Mayor of Cuyapo, who encouraged participants to apply what they learned and assured them of the LGU’s continuing support. “Let us enrich the knowledge we gained from them. On our part, we will strive to secure financial and livelihood assistance for those who benefited from this activity,” he said. Participants learned about various CLSU-developed technologies such as Special Purpose Rice, Goat Production, ItikPINAS duck raising, and Mushroom Production. These were presented by Mr. Elmer P. Natividad, Jr., Special Purpose Rice Focal Person; Mr. Melchor P. Pascua, Goat Production Technical Expert; Assoc. Prof. Jean Karla D. Julian, ItikPINAS Farm Manager; and Ms. Mary Grace R. Padilla, Mushroom Production Project Leader. Many farmers expressed their enthusiasm and signified their intent to try and adopt the technologies presented, recognizing their potential to enhance farm productivity and income. Also present were Municipal Agriculture Officer Mr. Orlando S. Ramos, Sangguniang Bayan Member (SBM) Amado U. Corpuz III, Chair of the Committee on Agriculture, as well as SBM Candy May Andres, SBM Jen Agustin, and SBM Jerry Marcos, who joined in support of initiatives that promote a more productive and progressive agricultural sector in Cuyapo. The activity forms part of CLSU’s continuing advocacy campaign to bring its technologies and services closer to farmers and stakeholders—empowering local communities toward a more progressive and sustainable agriculture sector.
